Unkapanı Flour Mill in Istanbul: Projects for its Preservation and Sustainability

NIT cordially invites you to the project presentations of the NIT Urban Heritage Lab: Industrial Heritage for Sustainable Cities course.

This week, our course participants will be the speakers. By taking the problems of the mill and its surroundings in the wider context into consideration, the course participants will present their projects for the appreciation, transformation, and/or re-use of Unkapanı Flour Mill considering circularity, sustainability, inclusivity as well as public engagement. Selected students and young professionals with diverse backgrounds including architecture, urban planning, and cultural heritage management from various universities and institutions from Turkey and the Netherlands have worked on their projects in four groups for the last two months.

After the presentation of the project proposals, they will be discussed by A. Güliz Bilgin Altınöz, Jonathan Even-Zohar, Sinan Çağlar, and Süreyya Topaloğlu in a discussion session moderated by Fokke Gerritsen.

The event will be held on 10 December, Friday between 15.00-18.00 (Istanbul time) and 13.00 - 16.00 (Amsterdam time).

The event will be in English.
